About AAC Adoption

A.A.C. stands for Adoption for All Children. We are an experienced, professional, full service adoption agency.

A.A.C. has been licensed in Colorado since March of 1994. In 2006 alone, we placed 114 from both Korea and China. We have matched 23 special needs children from China and 20 have come home. Currently we can access to dozens of special needs children from online system of China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA).

Both countries have requirements of parents on ages, marriage length, etc. for a healthy infant. Both countires have special needs programs where requirements are not as strict.

Some of the special needs conditions are cleft lip/palate, heart problems, missing fingers/arms, spine deformity, hearing impaired, mild to moderate C.P. and microcephalys etc.  Special needs children are posted on our website under waiting children.

So far, babies from both countries are doing well, even if the baby was delayed in motor development (most from China). It usually takes about two to three months for them to catch up. In year 2006, we have not had many surprises in their medical backgrounds.

We have a full page of references listed in the information packet that you can call. They would be happy to share their adoption experiences with you. If you need more in your area, we have more lists of people who have adopted from us from both countries.  Please call A.A.C. for more information.

Babies are placed at about 4 months of age to 7 months of age (age at the time when they come home) from Korea, and 8 to 15 months old from China when they come home. We also have placed older children.

A.A.C. does domestic adoptions.  We usually do designated domestic adoptions (where the parents already have birth parents that they know) or on a very special case basis.

A.A.C. has a Homeland Tour program, sponsorship for handicapped children and as aide program for orphanages. A.A.C. Adoption Foundation can aid for part of medical special needs children and adoption fee. AAC also donates average of $120.000.00 for aides programs in China & Korea.

Colorado has a very supportive adoption group besides A.A.C.'s monthly gatherings. For example, Culture Camps held annually in the summer months, parents' groups, mother's groups, etc.

A.A.C. also provides a full range of Core-Training for Colorado families preparing adoption and for requirements of State of Colorado.

Free consultation meetings are provided. A.A.C. provides pre-adoption consultation, individualized meeting before you start the process. This meeting is to help you decide or to give more detailed information and for us to hear what your worries are regarding international adoption. This will give you better understanding about what is available and what is the right choice for you. This meeting is free of charge and no commitment is required.

As of March 2008, the process takes about 15 to 24 months from start to finish for Korea. China takes up to 24 - 30 months.

At four months of age, Korea does Hepatitis and HIV test and most of the babies  receive Hepatitis & Hemoglobin shots at birth to prevent Hepatitis B.

China's Hepatitis test result is on the child's medical information and most have HIV test.

A.A.C. will guide parents through every step. What is special to A.A.C. is that we complete the China Dossier for you. In addition, we usually do a 10 to 14 day trip to China.  A.A.C. also has a China Program Coordinator who travels to China with the group and helps with the process while in China.

When A.A.C. receives your pre-application, we will send either Korea or China formal packet to start the process.  If you are not sure of your decision on which country or when to start, then you can wait until you have made your decision.  Pre-adoption (consultation) meeting will be a great source of help.
